Pioneers – Converging Streams and Overlapping Networks

Pioneers is an international, cross-cultural mission organisation, mobilising teams to initiate church planting movements amongst the world’s ‘least reached’ and often forgotten people groups.[1] Pioneers, in name, began in the United States in the early 1980s through the vision of Ted Fletcher. Fletcher was a businessman with a long and passionate interest in cross-cultural mission who, by the time he was 39, had risen to become the National Sales manager for the Wall Street journal. During these early years in business and leadership he became increasingly interested in world missions, and in particular, the implementation of creative vocational strategies to reach and impact ‘unreached’ peoples with the gospel.
